ABOUT OUR COMPANY AND ITS HISTORY
Russells was established in 1929 as growers and suppliers of fresh produce and we are still trading from our original Mid-Sussex site. In 1964 the produce supply business was separated from the rest of the business. Following the sale of our successful retail shops in Hassocks and Burgess Hill in 1989 and 2000 respectfully we have been concentrating on the produce supply business which has expanded rapidly.
We have built up an extensive customer base and now supply Major Schools and Colleges, Local Authorities, Leisure Centres, Hospitals, Hotels, Restaurants, Care and Nursing Homes and units administered by National and International catering management Companies.
We are a family owned and run Company giving a personal service. It our aim to deliver the best produce available at a competitive price.
We can,subject to seasonal availability, supply a full and comprehensive range of fresh produce together with an extensive selection of prepared fruit and vegetables, eggs, par fry chips, rape seed cooking oil, organic produce and a range of frozen goods. We operate a six days a week delivery service.
Our products are sourced from London's New Covent Garden Market, Local wholesalers and suppliers and Local producers.
UK produce is supplied whenever possible sourced by our Company either direct from the producer or from their preferred wholesalers.
A small quantity of our produce is grown on our Nursery this is mainly herbs.
